USAA raises minimal pay for all staff


USAA will raise the minimum wage for its employees and has announced its goal of hiring 2,600 people by the end of 2021.

The insurer will increase employee salaries from $ 16 to $ 21 an hour, or $ 43,680 a year; The increase came into effect on October 10, 2021. USAA also said the increase would allow employees to earn an annual compensation package of up to approximately $ 53,940 with their vacation pay, Annual Incentive, 401 (k) match, and retirement – that’s roughly $ 26 each Hour.

At the same time as the pay rise, USAA also announced that it would fill 2,600 jobs by the end of the year. Approximately 1,500 of these positions are located at the company’s headquarters in San Antonio. The other positions are spread across the USAA’s other locations across America, including Phoenix (200), Tampa (200), Colorado Springs (100), and Dallas (100).

The insurer has emphasized that many of the positions on offer have the option to work in a hybrid or remote model. Available positions include member service personnel, automotive and property damage assessors, data engineers, data scientists, IT analysts, software engineers, and underwriters.

To help drive recruitment efforts, USAA grants a referral bonus of up to $ 2,000 to employees who can recommend their family or friends for a position at the company.
