USAA appoints three senior leaders to govt council
Carter (pictured above) has been President of USAA Life Insurance Company since 2014. In this role, he was instrumental in the digital transformation of the company’s life and health insurance business. Carter joined USAA in 1997 and has held several leadership roles during his tenure including general manager of the company’s Phoenix campus and senior leadership roles in asset management, building the asset contact center, selling member experiences, and managing marketing campaigns.
Gitiche (pictured below) joined the company in 2020 and has helped USAA build and maintain its auditing role. Prior to joining USAA, he was Chief Audit Executive for Freddie Mac. Gitiche has over 20 years of experience with major financial institutions including Bank of America, GE Capital, and American Express.

Vakharia (pictured below) joined the USAA in June. He has 20 years of experience in the financial services sector, most recently at Truist Bank, where he held leadership positions in strategy, deposits and omnichannel. Prior to Truist, Vakharia was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company where he focused on strategy, sales, mergers and operations for the retail banking and property and casualty sectors.
