US stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 1.87%
Investing.com – US stocks were higher after Monday’s close, while gains in the, and sectors drove higher prices.
At the close of trading on the NYSE, the index was up 1.87%, while the index was adding 1.17% and the index was adding 0.93%.
The best performers of the session were Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ :), which rose 3.80% or 1.77 points to trade at 48.30 at the close. In the meantime, Boeing Co (NYSE 🙂 gained 3.72% or 7.39 points to finish at 205.88 and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ 🙂 rose 3.53% or 1.74 points to 50.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nike Inc (NYSE :), which fell 0.76% or 1.30 points to close at 168.94. Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE 🙂 lost 0.70% or 0.36 points to end at 51.06 and Merck & Company Inc (NYSE 🙂 rose 0.12% or 0.09 points to 73.43.
The top performers of the S&P 500 were Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE :), which is up 9.51% to 20.03, Nectar therapeutics (NASDAQ 🙂 rose 9.51% to 11.86 and TripAdvisor Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 rose 8.89% to close at 26.95.
The worst performers were Pfizer Inc (NYSE :), which fell 5.12% to 51.49 in late trade, Fortinet Inc (NASDAQ :), which fell 3.56% to settle at 292.04, and Advanced Micro Devices Inc (NASDAQ :), which fell 3.44% to 139.06 in the close.
The top performers of the NASDAQ Composite were Badge systems Inc (NASDAQ :), which is up 200.40% to 15,050, Del Taco Restaurants Inc (NASDAQ :), which is up 66.14% to stand at 12.51, and Cumberland Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: ), which rose by 51.20% and closed at 6.940.
The worst performers were Bolt biotherapeutics (NASDAQ 🙂 which is down 55.81% to 4.64 in late trade; Alset Ehome International Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 which is down 41.65% to settle at 0.630 and Reata Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ :), which is down 37.83% to 48.92 at close of trade.
Rising stocks outpaced falling stocks on the New York Stock Exchange from 2,492 to 796 and 106 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq stock market rose 2493 and fell 1357 while 169 ended unchanged.

Cumberland Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 shares rose to 3-year high; increases 51.20% or 2.350 to 6.940. Shares in Reata Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ 🙂 fell 52-week lows; Decrease by 37.83% or 29.77 to 48.92.

Gold futures for February delivery fell 0.26%, or 4.60, to $ 1,779.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in January rose 5.72% or 3.79 to $ 70.05 a barrel, while the Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to $ 73.61 a barrel in February fell.
EUR / USD rose 0.01% to 1.1286 while USD / JPY rose 0.02% to 113.48.
The US dollar index futures rose 0.17% to 96.275.
