Orchid Insurance coverage names new president
The Orchid Underwriters Agency (Orchid Insurance) has promoted Kathy Cody (pictured) to president.
Cody joined Orchid Insurance in 2019 as Chief Operating Officer, having previously served as COO of the Personal Line Division of Farmers Insurance Group. In a press release, the company said it was instrumental in modernizing Orchid Insurance’s business platform, leading the company through one of the toughest markets in years, the busiest storm season ever, and a global pandemic.
Cody has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 10 years with Farmers. Before that she was also CFO for the life business of farmers.
“Kathy’s appointment is well deserved,” said Brad Emmons, Orchid Insurance chief executive officer. “I have great confidence in your ability to lead our organization, gradually improve our skills and drive implementation towards our strategic vision.”
“I couldn’t be more proud of my time at Orchid. I have enjoyed the full support of our private equity owner Towerbrook Capital Partners, the Board of Directors and Brad in implementing transformation strategies that will add value to our carrier partners and retail agents, ”commented Cody on her appointment. “We have put together an extremely talented leadership team and are well positioned to take advantage of market volatility, renewed demands on technology and innovation, data, analytics and of course, sophisticated drawing skills.”
