MS Amlin AG faucets new chief underwriting officer


Global reinsurer MS Amlin AG (MS AAG) has announced the appointment of Charles Goldie as Chief Underwriting Officer. Goldie will take on the role early in the first quarter of 2021, subject to regulatory approval. He will report to the CEO of MS AAG, Charles Beazley.

Goldie has over 30 years of industry experience. Prior to joining MS AAG, he was CEO of P&C for PartnerRe. During his 16-year tenure at PartnerRe, Goldie held various other positions including Vice CEO of PartnerRe Global and CEO of PartnerRe Specialty Lines. He began his career in an actuarial and advisory role.

Chris Hayward, who has served as Interim Chief Underwriting Officer since September, will return to his previous role as CUO of MAS AAG’s Bermuda branch.

“I am delighted to have Charles as Chief Underwriting Officer at MAS AAG. Charles brings a wealth of experience to the company, along with a strong track record of leadership roles in large, diverse companies with multiple jurisdictions, ”said Beazley. “His insight and experience in managing underwriting portfolios in our key markets will be critical to our next phase of growth. I am confident that he will be an invaluable addition to the MS AAG team. “

Beazley also recognized Hayward for his “strong leadership” as interim CUO.

“We are grateful for his continued significant contribution and dedication as he supports Charles in his new role,” said Beazley.
