Marsh strengthens aviation observe with newest rent
Global insurance broker Marsh has strengthened its global aviation practice with the appointment of Rick Howell (pictured) as its new head of advisory for operational risk in aviation, effective January 02, 2022.
In a statement, Marsh confirmed that Howell, who is based in Hong Kong, will report to Garrett Hanrahan, Marsh Specialty’s global director of aerospace. His responsibilities include advising Marsh Specialty aviation customers around the world on best practices in operational risk management, safety auditing and governance, as well as non-technical areas such as culture, personal safety and mental health.

Howell is an industry veteran who brings 43 years of aerospace experience to Marsh. He joins the company from the Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific Airways, where he was the manager of operational safety and risk management – a role that encompasses all aspects of flight safety, safety, quality, business resilience, human factors, occupational safety and health. and compliance.
Before joining Cathay Pacific Airways, Howell held senior positions with the Hong Kong Government Flying Service and the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force. He is a member of the Security Advisory Board of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and has chaired the IATA Security Group twice since 2005.
