Hiscox faucets new underwriting chief
Specialty insurer Hiscox announced the appointment of Matthew Wilken as Chief Underwriting Officer of Hiscox Re & ILS effective Monday.
In his new role, Wilken will join the Hiscox Re & ILS leadership team and be responsible for executing the Hiscox Re & ILS underwriting strategy. He will be based in Bermuda and report to Kathleen Reardon, CEO of Hiscox Re & ILS.
Before joining Hiscox, Wilken was Head of Reinsurance at MS Amlin. He spent his early career in a variety of underwriting positions with Kiln Syndicate and completed his tenure as assistant active underwriter for Oven Reinsurance. After joining Kiln, he served as Chief Underwriting Officer and later President of Argo Re Short Tail before moving to Ariel Re as active underwriter in S1910 and as deputy global head of reinsurance.
