Decision Life brings in group CFO


The global insurance group Resolution Life – with offices in Bermuda, the UK, the US, Australia and New Zealand – has hired Simon Woods as Group Chief Financial Officer.

As an alumnus of PwC, HSBC and UBS, Woods was Head of Insurance Finance in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs in London before moving to EY in Zurich, where he led customer service for complex strategic changes and for a number of senior client relationships Insurance was responsible for all areas.

“Simon’s experience enables him to play an instrumental role in Resolution Life as we continue to grow through M&A,” said Sir Clive Cowdery, CEO of Resolution Life.

“He already knows the business well and I look forward to working with him as the group helps even more global insurers free capital by providing policyholders with a safe, long-term home.”

Woods, who reports to Cowdery, will join the Executive Committee and be responsible for the financial governance of Resolution Life, including accounting, controlling, taxation, investments, capital raising and use, debt strategy and management, and treasury services.
