Companion Re names new board member
Partner Re has announced that he has appointed Enrico Vellano (pictured) to its board of directors. Vellano succeeds John Elkann as Exor representative.
Vellano is the Chief Financial Officer of Exor, the owner of Partner Re. He began his career in 1997 with IFIL, the Agnelli family-controlled investment company, and moved into positions of increasing responsibility until he was appointed CFO in 2006.
“I have been honored to serve on the board of Partner Re Ltd. for the past five years,” said Elkan, Chairman and CEO of Exor. “Under the leadership of Brian Dowd as Chairman and Jacques Bonneau as President and CEO, Partner Re is in excellent shape for the next phase of his development. Recent appointments to both board and management team levels have strengthened the company, which now has a very deep pool of experience, insight and talent.

“Enrico Vellano was closely involved in all aspects of our investment in Partner Re from the start, and I am delighted that he is following me on the board as another signal of our long-term commitment to the company and its independence strategy,” said Elkan.
Partner Re’s board of directors has five directors, three of whom are completely independent of the company.
