Chubb broadcasts two key appointments to North America crew

With over 25 years of experience, Gillston will report to Lou Capparelli, Chubb’s Executive Vice President of Global Casualty. Gillston will also work closely with the Liability team to bring Chubb’s range of primary, overseas and liability insurance offerings to large customers. He will continue to serve as head of private equity practice, reporting to the Chubb Group and division president of major North American client Matt Merna, and will remain based in New York.

Gillston joined Chubb in 2000. Prior to taking over Chubb in 2016, he was Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity.

Meanwhile, Bill Hazelton (pictured above) – current Executive Vice President – has been appointed to succeed Gillston as Practice Leader of the Real Estate and Hospitality business. He will also assume an expanded role as Executive Vice President, focused “on a number of key strategic initiatives” in Chubb’s North American businesses, reporting to John Lupica, Vice Chairman of the Chubb Group and North America Insurance President.

Hazelton joined Chubb in 2005 after holding a number of executive positions. Before serving as Executive Vice President, he was Head of Claims in North America and the Practice Leader for the Environment, Excessive Damage and Construction at Chubb.

“Seth and Bill have a deep understanding of the problems each of our customers face,” commented Matt Merna. “Seth’s background puts him in a good position to work with our partners to provide effective excess and multinational solutions to clients worldwide. Bill’s extensive knowledge of the industry and our business is ideal for meeting the complex needs of our customers and distributors. His background will enable him to effectively deliver Chubb’s full range of specialized offerings. “
