Burns & Wilcox promotes Daniel J. Kaufman to president
HW Kaufman Group and its largest subsidiary Burns & Wilcox today announced the promotion of Daniel J. Kaufman (pictured) to President of Burns & Wilcox, effective January 1, 2022.
Kaufman becomes the third president in the history of Burns & Wilcox, a leading wholesale insurance broker and underwriting manager in North America. He is followed by his father, Alan Jay Kaufman, Chairman, President and CEO of the HW Kaufman Group, and his late grandfather Herbert W. Kaufman, who founded the company more than 50 years ago.
The new president previously served as Burns & Wilcox’s chief operating officer, a role he held in 2018. Since then, Kaufman has been committed to developing the company, prioritizing the introduction of new expert-led practice groups, world-class business processes, and transformative technology initiatives.
In his new role, Kaufman will take control of Burns & Wilcox and its growth in the United States. He will continue to serve as Executive Vice President of the HW Kaufman Group overseeing the company’s IT, marketing and compliance departments.
“It is an honor to continue the legacy of my grandfather and father while building our industry leadership position,” said Kaufman. “Our privately owned, multigenerational family property contributes to the company’s competitive advantage. Burns & Wilcox is future-oriented and has a growth mindset that will continue to make us a target for the top talent in the industry. “
Proud Father Alan Jay Kaufman commented, “I am very proud to see Danny expand his role as a third generation leader. His positive influence was felt throughout our company and resulted in consistently strong financial performance. I am confident that Danny will make Burns & Wilcox even more successful over the next 50 years and beyond. “
