McIntosh also serves as president of Liberty’s MGA, AURA Risk Management Insurance Services, which develops, builds and manages programs that support liberty clients on an exclusive basis and builds programs and wholesale distribution for select external broker partners.

McIntosh has extensive experience in property and casualty and more than 10 years of workers’ compensation underwriting experience, as well as program administration management from his time with KRM Risk Management, a family-owned MGA based in Southern California.

In 2012, McIntosh decided to depart KRM to work the retail side at Barney & Barney (now MMA) and move into a marketing role. The new role was a challenge, and inspired him to seek more insurance education.

“I leveraged this time and previous entrepreneurial, sales and leadership experience into founding a property and casualty division at a publicly traded bank and then acquiring that business under private ownership years later,” McIntosh told IBA. “That brief, difficult period of transition provided the opportunity for me to advance my career further and gain new partnerships and opportunities in this beautiful insurance business. All of this has led me to where I am today, of which I could not be happier.”

McIntosh also specializes in alternative risk, with a focus on captives, self-insurance and large-deductible programs. He has earned professional designations as Associate in Underwriting, Management Liability Insurance Specialist, Cyber, and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist.
