BBTV launches crypto fee answer for media monetization
BroadbandTV Corporation (BBTV) content creators will soon be able to get paid in crypto.
BBTV recently announced Pay to Crypto, a payment solution that allows developers to be paid in Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and USD stablecoin (USDC). With the newly launched solution, developers only need to select a crypto asset and provide a compatible wallet address, and BBTV will send their earnings directly.
For some developers, getting paid directly in crypto is a welcome benefit. In the announcement, content creator Joseph Hogue expressed his delight, saying, “Being paid directly in cryptocurrency saves me time and for a minimal fee compared to multiple transfers from my bank to different wallets.”

The move to integrate crypto payments comes in response to interest from creators, according to BBTV Chairman and CEO Shahrzad Rafati. “Creators have been very vocal about their interest in joining the Web3 revolution, and we’re very proud to be leading the way,” said Rafati.
The company works with content creators of all sizes by recognizing and monetizing videos uploaded by fans to platforms like YouTube. The company currently serves individuals as well as larger corporations such as the NBA, Viacom and Sony Pictures.
The crypto payment solution will be implemented with the help of crypto trading platform Netcoins, a subsidiary of BIGG Digital Assets Inc. Mark Binns, CEO of BIGG, also added his two cents: “Converting your payments from USD to other currencies changes the narrative of what your payments can do.”

This isn’t the first time the firm has dabbled in the crypto space. Back in 2021, BBTV also participated in a seed round for the social non-fungible token platform Nifty’s Inc.
Meanwhile, the recent adoption of crypto payments isn’t limited to public companies like BBTV. A recent Visa survey showed that even small and medium-sized businesses will accept digital assets in 2022. Additionally, governments like Iran will implement mechanisms that will allow businesses to complete payments using cryptocurrencies.
