AXA XL names underwriting head for specialty area of interest enterprise
AXA XL announced the promotion of Maria Duhart to Chief Underwriting Officer for its specialized niche insurance business in America. Previously, Duhart was head of AXA XL’s commercial bond business.
In her new role, Duhart will report to Donna Nadeau, Chief Underwriting Officer for America. Duhart will be responsible for AXA XL’s specialist niche collective insurance lines in America, including political risk; Trade credits and bonds; War, terrorism and political violence; Fine Arts and Art; Leisure and entertainment; and structured risk solutions.

Prior to joining AXA XL, Duhart was Head of Commercial Surety at Nationwide. She also served as Regional Surty Manager and Assistant Vice President – Surty and Senior Surty Underwriting Specialist at Chubb.
