Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) announced the appointment of Thomas Houlihan as permanent Regional Director for the Americas in AGCS ‘Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) business. Houlihan will be based in New York and report to Grant Maxwell, global head of alternative risk transfer.
Houlihan has held this position on an interim basis since May, when ART realigned its risk appetite and strategy to focus on scalable innovation for corporate clients, with an emphasis on structured insurance (including reinsurance for captives) and fronting (for captives and other businesses), called AGCS.
Houlihan joined the company in 2014 as Executive Underwriter in Liability and then served as Team Leader Northeast and Head of the Regional Construction Liability Practice Group National Accounts before joining ART last year. Prior to joining AGCS, Houlihan held positions at Allied World Assurance, The Navigators Group and Arch Insurance Group.
