NEW YORK (Reuters) – Activision Blizzard Inc (NASDAQ:) has fired or fired more than three dozen employees and disciplined another 40 since July in a bid to address allegations of sexual harassment and other wrongdoing at the video game company, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday .
Activision was supposed to release a summary of those measures ahead of the final holiday, but chief executive Bobby Kotick held it back because the company’s job woes could appear worse than previously reported, the Journal said, citing people familiar with the situation.
The recently completed summary also says that since July, when a California agency filed a lawsuit against the company over claims of harassment, Activision had collected about 700 reports of employee concerns about misconduct and other issues.
Data compiled by Activision, owner of the “Call of Duty” franchise, shows it has so far reviewed more than 90% of the approximately 700 employee reports it has collected, the journal said, again citing people familiar with the situation .
Activision said in October it had fired more than 20 employees following allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace, with 20 others facing other forms of disciplinary action.
Activision did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.
